Lauren is home from Africa!!!

Her stories are amazing, but I can't tell them for her! She is an amazing girl and I cannot believe the stuff she went through! So very proud of her :)

CAMP!!

What a week it was, State FFA Camp, it would be my 4th camp, and man was it adventurous!! I definitely had the best group :) Though I am a little bias because I was their counselor, BUT truly and honestly they taught me so much! I am normally the counselor that likes to have serious groups, we have fun but when it is serious time then thats that.  But with this group, it clearly did not happen like that, they taught me how to be enthusiastic and positive no matter what, and normally I am like that but after I talk about the crazziness of the week, you will understand how hard it was for me, but they truly kept my spirits up and going all week!  Having 6 boys {Cannon, Jordan, Zack, Aaron, Travis, Byron} and 6 girls {Lilly, Hope, Megan, Alanna, Roxy, Erika} and then me Kalea and my mentee Keili(which is also pronounced like my name) was soooooo much fun!!! Normally the first couple days are hard because everyone is getting to know everyone but that was not the case at all.  It was high spirits the whole time!!  I am not sure how to describe the week but as ADVENTUROUS!!!!!!!!! I will let the pictures explain the rest of the week :) Lots of work, lots of no sleep, BUT lots of FUN!!!!!!

Its my Birthday!

I am 20! yay! Nothing too exciting except as my dad says I am o longer a teenie bopper...haha Since Chris wont be with me today, we celebrated my birthday yesterday by relaxing and doing nothing all day :) It was fabulous! I also woke up, or kind of woke up to him giving me roses and a very very sweet card :) Man do I love that boy! At 12:01 last night he sang me happy birthday and my parents called about a minute later singing to me! It was very cute, and they even sent a present down with Kristen to SLC so I had something to open on my birthday, so I opened that up when I was on the phone with them! As for today, I am working all day, sooo much fun..let me tell you {exaggeration much} and then going to dinner with Cheyenne! That Cheyenne, she surprised me with painting pottery!!! It was so so much fun!! It was great to have some girly time! Not to mention it was Cheyenne's first time painting pottery :) I painted a jar for date nights and she painted a frame! I cannot wait to see what they look like when they are done.  After that we went to Applebees and had the lovely 2 for $20 meal, DELICIOUS!! First we got spinach and artichoke dip {this is why I love her, well one of the reasons, when we go out I can have delicious things that Christopher won't eat} Then we both ordered scrumptious pasta, but by the time our entrees came we were so full from the dip we could only eat half.  Oh did I mention the entire day she made me wear a crown, I felt a little silly but I decided I would agree to wear it :) After dinner I headed back to the apartment to work on FFA stuff or so I thought.  There my roommates were with a cake{Kevin baked it!} and a sign that said "Happy Birthday Kalea!" I had no idea and was not expecting it at all!! After that we all ate cake, played taboo, and watched Something about Mary (A classic- If you haven't seen it, shame on you!!) That's all folks!!

State Leadership Conference!!

Can you believe it has been another year since I served as a state officer?!? I can't, in some ways it makes me sad but other ways it is happy because of how much I have grown and learned since I was a state officer! SLC was wonderful, there is just something about it that makes it so great!! Sidnee, a past state officer from Idaho came to SLC to help us out, she was soooo awesome!! She was my roommate and let me tell you, we probably talked a little more than we should have in the mornings, there was a lot of holy cow we only have 10 minutes until we have to leave as we are brushing our teeth in our pjs.  It was fun though! I am so proud of the recently retired state officers, they worked so hard to make SLC amazing! And I am so proud of the new state officers they have so much ahead of them, lots of late nights, driving, and hard work but I know they can do it!! Here is pictures of my team to the team now :) Oh how I love FFA!

Memorial Day!!

It was great to finally see my parents and my sister, though we only spent one GLORIOUS day at the lake, it wasn't enough!! While we were on the lake I couldn't do anything since I hurt my foot at work(dropped a 50 lb bronze plaque on it-no biggy right?!?) but thats ok it was still a fun day on the lake hanging out. My parents did such a wonderful job on the lake house, it looks sooooo great!! I haven't been up there since Christmas so a lot has changed! They did it all themselves, quite the remodelers!! On Sunday Morning Chris, Lauren, I came home because Lauren had some graduation parties to go to and Chris' parents were having a BBQ.  It was a lovely Sunday, we had time to just hang out and relax and it was especially nice to see everyone!

More pictures to come :)
