Labor Day Weekend!
Labor Day weekend I went up to the lake to see everyone!! On my way to Gilbert, I had the privilege of having Ms. Laura Stump ride with me, I always love hearing her stories about traveling the world. What a crazy girl!! Friday night I got home around 6 but Lauren and Alli were not ready to go because they went to the high school football game. I waited for a while and was super exhausted so we decided to stay until Saturday morning and drive up then. Saturday morning I was woke up by a phone call from Nileah wondering where I was, we all got ready and headed up to the lake.
We got up there around 11am and hung out with everyone for a while. We then decided to go to the lake, it was so beautiful out and the water was the perfect temperature!! We all swam a lot, jumping off the towering, playing games, Nileah wakeboarded
and then I proceeded to wakeboard. Well it was choppy so I stopped so we could move to a different spot, the water was ok, definitely not glass though.
I jumped the first time, landed perfectly, then I go to jump the other side of the wake. Yup, I crashed.....BAD! Something was wrong, I knew because I was face down in the water and could not move, Niane jumped in the water to help me, mom and Niane slowly flipped me over and took off my bindings. I laid down on the back step and my hip popped in, thats not very good we though, so I laid on the bottom of the boat the rest of the way home. When I got home I laid down and iced and iced and iced and then iced some more. As I was laying there, all of a sudden I am hugged from behind, I was like "what in the world?" SURPRISE!! Christopher came up for the rest of the weekend to surprise me! That was an amazing surprise especially since I would be on the couch for the rest of it. Sunday my parents took me to our friend Marty who is a chiropractor so he could look at my hip, turns out I rotated my femur, ouch! painful! But he fixed it so I could walk :) So that's pretty much my labor day weekend, couch, tv, snacks, chilling in the pool, icing my hip! Not the best weekend ever but it was good to see everyone!

New Car!!
ahhhh!!
what's going on?!?
New car! So fancy! So many words cannot explain what happened yesterday!! I am super super super excited!! Dad and mom did such a fantastic job of surprising me :) All I thought I was doing was going out to lunch with my daddy because he was working down here. We were walking down University just talking about how my job interview went, I will talk about that more at the end of the week with my post, but all of a sudden a car alarm started going off and daddy kept saying "turn your alarm off" and "I don't have a car or keys, (I kept looking around to see who he was talking to)" Then he handed me they keys and I was like "What?!?!?" To see the least I was a little discombobulated for a minute until I figure out it was real!! It is a manual 2010 Toyota Corolla!!! So excited, I have only driven it twice but I already love it and can't wait to figure out all the fancy gadgets on it!! My parents are amazing and I can't believe I have a beautiful brand new car!!

First Week Of what?!? SCHOOL!!!

The summer is gone and its time to get back in school mode, now for me thats a literal statement, I didnt know how hard it was to go back into school mode full time. Let's just say my first week of school felt like an eternity! But let's start with the week before school started. The week before school I was a little out of it because of all my procedures(that would be gastro & wisdom teeth) all in the same week, going under twice in one week, well lets just say I was on the couch ALOT!!! But it was a fantstic week because I spent alot of time with family, Chris, and my best friend KENDRA!!! I haven't spent time with her in ages and she came over and spent the whole day with me even though I was a little loopy! On Friday and Saturday before, I helped with COLT (Chapter Officer Leadership Training), which is an FFA event that Arizona FFA puts on, I did three workshops, two with my mentee and one about floriculture! Saturday after COLT, I went out to lunch with Kendra and Katie for one last goodbye before our lives change! It was so special to spend the extra time with them especially since Katie is leaving for school in California next semester and Melody(Kendra's baby girl) will be here on September 20th! After that, I loaded up my jeep and headed down to Tucson! Chris of course came down to help me get settled in and the boys had a "little" before school starts party which was fun, except I was too worried about school starting to actually enjoy everyones company. Sunday- well that flew by, I don't even remember what I did to be completely honest. Monday morning: 6:30am- Good Morning Kalea! It's your first real day of college at the University of Arizona! 9am-sitting in Calculus (oh boy its going to be a hard semester) 10am-Chemistry (I am soooo lost! What in the world is he talking about?!) BREAK otherwise known as fight everyone in getting your books and watch all the freshman struggle to find their classes. 1pm- Lab (Longest class of my life{my teacher has only been America from India for 3 weeks, talk about a language barrier} 4:50pm- DONE with my first day of school!!! Aftre this I went to the mall and chopped all my hair off!!
Then I went over to Chelsea's house for dinner, she made some delcious lasagna for us and we sat there and talked for two hours about random nothing. After that home for homework and day 2 of school! TUESDAY!!! 8am- English 102 (oh boy, rhetorical analysis, lady seriously?! when am I ever going to use this) 9:30am- Trad 104 Mind, Matter, and God aka The Mind Trick Class with 500 students!! My professors favorite word/motion-BOING!! 11am- AED 301 YES! The class I am preceptoring for that I took last year and it was amazing! After school I went home and watched My Family's Wedding with Ryan....Then it was time for fajita's at Christian Challenge! Good to see everyone again- I cannot wait to see what God ois going to do on the UA campus this year :) Wednesday- the cycle starts again~Math, Chemistry, and another chemistry class! That night I went to another christian group called CRU where I know a family friend of Christophers family and his name happens to be Chris also. That was super fun and good to experience something new! I decided that I am going to make this year a year to remember so I am going to try lots of different clubs and do everything I possible can! And Thursday and Friday are the same as the rest of the week. yay for repetitive classes! Oh except Thursday I did meet with a florist because I am working with Tanque Verde FFA to help them get a floriculture team started. Which
is right up my alley, he is an awesome guy and will do wonders for their team! That same night I went to Chelsea's for dinner to help Jared prepare for national office, we had too much fun and I am not sure how much we actually got done but it was lots of fun! The weekend went by fast with homework and company of friends!! Sunday I did get to go home and see Lauren & Chris for a bit! I am kind of a failure at pictures for the first week, but I will put some up soon!

We went shopping all day, we were all exhausted and she was bored which=sticker book...she thought it would be a great idea if we all had stickers all over our bodies and for some odd reason we followed along :)
Mom some how got out of the pictures.. ..hmmm its like magic..she always does that!
The next day I went to Cole and Alyssa's wedding with my dashing date Christopher Jon Malmanger!! It was a gorgeous wedding!! They even had a photo booth- which was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

California!
I am officially in California for a week, I got in yesterday at 2:30ish. On the plane I rode with a girl who goes to community college in Orange County and a little girl in the second grade that was flying by herself. Their company on the plane made for a quick ride, turns out they were both visiting their grandparents in Arizona and the girl my age was very close to us, her grandparents live in Mesa. She goes back in a week to continue to take care of her grandpa who has esophageal cancer, even though I don’t know her well and did not get her name, please pray for her and her family, as they do not have much time left with him. When I got to the airport I was greeted by grandma and grandpa Cake at the luggage belt. I am stoked for this trip well because there are no plans and I am just grateful to be here!! So the first day, after the airport we went straight to Roger’s Gardens, I have been here one before and loved it, so of course me being plant loving girl, I walked around looking at the plants I knew and learning more plants! Grandpa and Grandma thought I was crazy for knowing so many plants, but I just can’t help it, I retain plants, about the only thing I can remember well, as for geography (not so much retaining) as they have learned this morning. After Rogers Garden we went out to Tommy Bahamas restaurant where I had a delicious Mango-Mustard Chicken! People that pay $128 for a shirt are CRAZY! Tommy Bahamas well to say the least people that buy clothes from there are loaded and need to spend their money elsewhere. Once we got back, we watched Revenge of the Bridesmaids’ on ABC Family; they both thought it was silly but funny. Day 1-Complete and eventful!! And it’s Monday!!!!
All three of us went to the art show in Laguna, I had so much fun, it was fabulous, I had the chance to talk to two artists one was a ceramic artists but what was unique about him was that he added crystal to his designs which made it comp
letely gorgeous. The second one I talked to was an artist that combines her work with another one, it was astonishing to find that they do their work separate and then eventually bring all their pieces together and find ones that match, put them together build frames and write stories for each picture. Oh and I forgot to mention, we were walking into the art show and I cannot remember what happened but Grandpa said WTF….oh my lanta I thought I was going to die laughing!! After that we went and looked at beautiful houses in Laguna
and Newport! Man would I love to live in some of those house (only if I was born with a bajillion dollars-not quite but I guess I will live) Now if I invent something maybe I can live there….hmmmm….one day! Day two- Artsy! Tuesday Grandma and I decided to go shopping after Grandpa’s eye doctor appointment. I went with them to Grandpa’s eye appointment and started reading a book called Life After School. Explained.
What a fantastic book, I read about half already! So we went shopping and I found a couple new tops, I especially like a store called Cotton On, I got a tank top for $2 and a long sleeve shirt for $5. Then we played a mean round of cards, it went from Grandpa winning to me winning to Grandma winning, we all kept trying to beat the other one out even though we kept giving the other person the perfect cards to finish their phase. We had to go to bed after our 10 phases because Grandma beat us to bad :) Day th
ree-Tiring but fun! :) Wednesday I unfortunately woke up with the worst headache ever so I went back to bed till noon; it turned out to be a relaxing day! I watched the Young Victoria with grandma while Grandpa was out shopping (he brought home delicious chicken and lemon meringue pie for dinner) and then all three of us watched Ben Stiller in Greenburg-worst movie ever-DO NOT watch!!! And Grandma and I went and got our nails done,
I needed to get out of the house and it was a fun girl thing to do while grandpa was shopping! Day 4- Head pounding day! The next day, I got all packed and went to breakfast with them; I got a mushroom, onion, and spinach crepe, who knew that it was going to be enormous!!!!
After that we went to the Orange County Fair, all I have to say is that place is so much more legit than the Maricopa county fair! I saw real peanuts growing!! I looked at all the livestock, they had a huge demonstration garden for “educational purposes”, flower arrangements (of course), craft section- man there are some talented people in CA, and went in the Ice Museum!
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR…………….. After that they took me to Aunt Pattie’s house. It was great to see everyone and to meet Baby Ava, she is so adorable! Day 5- “I miss FFA” I spent the night with them because the next morning Chris, Ryan, and Emily picked me up to go to Six Flags-Magic Mountain.
So Chris and Ryan are two peas in a pod, when we got there and pulled up to the parking lady, she says “Good Morning, welcome to six flags” Ryan replies, “Good morning, welcome to our car!” It was so hilarious, all of us were laughing so hard! So then we get up to the gate, go through, Chris grabs a map, opens it up and proceeds to say “Where is the we are here sticker, this was in the first 30 minutes of arriving, you can imagine how the whole day went……FUNNY! We got there at 10:30 when it opened and left at 10:00 when it closed…..LONG DAY!!
The
first ride I went on was called X2 to say the least I thought I was going to die, but by the end of the day I actually started enjoying myself. My favorite ride was called Tatsu and you were on your stomach and flying, it was incredible at night.
When we left we were all completely exhausted…..oh and I forgot sopping wet because I made them go on a water ride…WHOOPS!!

Day 6- Overcoming my fears!! So the next morning, what an adventurous day, we woke up and decided to go to the beach. We thought Balboa Island would be fantastic, little did we know that EVERYONE in California had the same idea, we drove around for 3 hours to look for parking!! By that time, we were tired of being in the car so we just went to Newport Beach :) Chris and Ryan boogie boarded all day while Emily and I laid out to soak up some sun-just to clarify we are still very very white!!! But we enjoyed lying out and not dying of heat exhaustion. We even fell asleep for a while and then the boys decided to look for sand crabs.
Who knew that would
entertain Chris for a couple hours! That night we went to Wahoo’s for dinner and then went and saw the movie SALT. Day 7- I love the weather in California!!
:)

Last day, well kind of, it was suppose to be but we ended up meeting Niane, Nileah, and Lauren at the mall, they can be so convincing- we stayed another night with them!! We went to the beach, Huntington this time, it was freezing,
Chris and Nileah went swimming which was absolutely adorable. He would pick her up every time a wave would come and all you would hear is a scream and then giggle. Christopher won’t admit it but he loves
Nileah to death, and personally I
think she has him wrapped around her little finger.
Lauren and Chris built Nileah a hole to sit in and they also found more sand crabs.
Then back to Aunt Pattie’s!! Day 8- Still not ready to leave!! The next morning we all woke up to pack and get ready to go home :) We met Rikki and Garth for breakfast before we headed out, we made really good time, I drove Kera’s car most of the way home because Niane was exhausted….I love Kera’s car (I think I want a car, 1st reason- BETTER gas mileage and 2nd-look to reason 1!!)
Day 9- Long Drive to come back to the scorching heat!!!!

Memories! Memories!! Memories!!!!!
Life is going so fast! I am officially done with state office, a sigh of relief and sadness. I am excited for a new chapter to begin and to live a "normal" college life.
Before SLC, some of us
went on a camping trip together, it was very interesting but I had a great time playing cards with the girls, driving to the lake, hanging out, roasting marshmallows and going off roading in Herbert(my jeep). I also did Mesquite FFA officer training for the day, they have grown so much as a chapter and I look forward to what they accomplish next year!!
Then SLC;(State Leadership Conference) SLC went fantastic, we went a couple days early, those days were filled with no sleep and practicing lines all day long, but in the end it was totally worth it because everything turned out perfect and everyone hit there cues.
The thing I was most scared for, my session theme, my 12 min speech went great! I couldnt have imagined myself doing it any better, all the work I put into memorizing it paid off, Lauren was speechless and everyone loved it. And our final entrance was amazing, we did the JK wedding dance off youtube and it was hilarious, everything was a good end to a fantastic year! After SLC was my birthday, turning 19, nothing fantastic, but I did have a huge BBQ where a ton of people came over! And I got a ton of new clothes from mom for my birthday which I needed badly. I didn't get a break though, the week after SLC we got ready for state camp and were off to Heber for state FFA camp, "Are you incredible?".
My superhero was "whirl girl" and I dressed up sort of like a nature girl that was a hurricane. My group was so amazing!
I love all of them and we had the best week, we didnt win but they were good sports and we had some really depth conversations that brought us closer. We also sat together for every meal. It was probably the best camp I have ever been to! Go group 12- Wolf, Kalea, Alyssa, Cannon, Dallas, Kelly, Amy, Butters, Thurman, Colton, Baylee, Dean, and Chad!!

And I would have pictures but my camera disappeared while I was there and its gone forever :( so I will try to get some pics from my group to put up. Now I am free for the rest of the summer, this week I have an interview for a wedding in October. Then I am going to spend the week with my family at the lake for the first time in forever!!!! I am also waiting for my present(we are going to do something) from Chris, we were suppose to do it last Sunday when I got home from camp, but it got cancelled, I dont know what it is but I am excited to find out and actually see him. He has been working construction all summer so he has been really busy and has been working in Yuma, so when I get to spend time with him I will be super super excited!!!! Last week I spent the whole time with mom and dad with a buch of visitors at the Lake house.
For the weekend of 4th of July, Niane, Jason, Nileah, Auntie Tami, Uncle Brian, Allie, Kristen, Lauren, and Chris were up there, we went into Globe for fireworks with the Bracketts. Then during the week we had Bryson on Wednesday and Auntie Tami and Uncle Brian came back for a couple days. We had to take Lauren and Kristen to Prescott for camp on Tuesday which was almost a 4 hour drive, ahhhhhh-too long to be in the car!!!! But I got to see Prescott, which was WAY fun, went shopping and got two new tops!! Of course the lake was a blast the whole time, it was great to have a ton of people there and then not so many people there, just to chill.I forgot how much I loved the lake until this year, I couldn't believe that it had been over a year since I had been at the lake(oh well FFA was worth it) Dad bought a wake skate, which is fun but super hard, Nileah also "wakeboarded" (dad got her a ski-helper for her birthday)on her own for the first time this week!! Then this weekend was fantastic, Chris, Ryan, and Emily came up for the weekend!!!
We had so much fun hanging out on the lake! We were so exhausted from being on the lake so long on Saturday, we came home, ate dinner, and crashed till the next morning. This week I am going to the doctor to be allergy tested again since i have been sick so much, we think I am allergic to corn-really??corn is in EVERYTHING!!!!!!! It has been a long time since I posted because I was going to wait until my mom uploaded her pics, but I will just put whatever pictures I have and then do some more later!! I cant wait for the next couple weeks, going to California to see Grandma and Grandpa Cake and going with Chris, Ryan, and Emily to the beach and six flags!!! I love summer!!! But I can't wait to get back to school either!!!!!
