Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

New years Eve..... we went on an extremely fun off-roading adventure!  So it was snowing in Roosevelt-I could not believe it!  We decided that it was most necessary to go off roading in it- at the time it seemed like a grand idea now that I think of it not so much BUT it happened! Well we have a rhino and only one jeep now, sad day, Herbert(my jeep) was sold to my cousin in Cali so we no longer have 2 jeeps...which means that not everyone could fit in the jeep. Yup you guessed it right Lauren, Chris, and I pleasurable got in the rhino meaning NO TOP!  You should have seen us, it was a comedy show, each of us had about 5 layers of pants on which included tights, jeans, 2 pajamas, and sweats and for the top long sleeve, short sleeve, jacket, sweatshirt, heavy coat, and for our heads, beanies, headbands, and 2 hoods!  We looked like 3 oompa lompas but it was freezing out, could you blame us?!? The entire ride was actually fantastic it was not too cold until we were headed back and we hit a blizzard literally!!!!!  I thought my nose was going to fall off, the snow was hitting us so hard on our freezing faces I could only laugh/cry.  It was quite the adventure but life is what you make it and that was definitely a memory that I will never forget!!

So for the actual night we were just bums, actually the whole week we were super lazy, I have officially seen all the new toddlers & tiaras and played the dance game enough to want to keep playing!!  We lit off a couple fireworks and laid by the fire all night, Lauren and I made New Years Noodles- basically an experiment dinner that we thought was delicious and Chris said it tasted gross and then it was midnight, of course I got my first 2011 kiss from Christopher Jon Malmanger, the man of my dreams and the only man I want to kiss for the rest of my life and then me and him stayed up and watched I believe it was 3 movies- Yours, Mine, and Ours & Wanted & My Big Fat Greek Wedding!!   I cannot believe it is already 2011~ Happy New Year!!
Now for the normal new years resolutions I only have a couple because I always come up with more as the year goes by but here are the few..
1. Make someone smile everyday
2. Get back into shape
3. Get better grades then last semester (cross our fingers NO B's)
4. Eat Better
5. Keep on crafting!!
6. Make sure to find time to blog
7.  Stay on top of everything!
8, 9, 10 shall be filled in at a later date

Christmas

This is my AMAZING family!!

The wonderful day of Jesus' birth!!!!  What an exciting day to celebrate with family and friends.  Christmas was a little hectic but well worth it.  Christopher decided he was going to join us this year, yay (I was a little excited, ok alot of excited ;) ) So Christmas eve after he did Christmas with his family he came up to the lake house!!  Oh how I love the lake house, sitting by the warm cozy fire, snuggling on the couch, looking at the christmas decorations, oh how wonderful!  Christmas morning we were all woken up by my obnoxious in a loving way sister, Lauren, even though she is 18 years of age she still believes we need to be up at 7. So her wish is our command rise and shine for everyone- which means Chris, me, Mom, dad, Kera, Brian, Grandma & Grandpa Cake {even though I know they were already up}  Time to open presents....or so you think, my dad has this lovely belief that we need to drag Christmas on FOREVER to make it last all day, sounds great in theory but not if you are excited to see what you got.  As always we started with the stockings....the normal but fun trinkets in stockings to name a few, See's candies, gum, bath & body, toothbrush (I must be stinky), jewelry, gift cards and much more....Santa sure does love us :) Then Santa's presents---Wii games, Yahoo!!  We got this Dance game that me and Lauren are pretty obsessed with its truly super fantatsicly fun!!!!!!  {Chris secretly loves it too even though he wont admit it}  And of course as I said earlier Dad likes to drag Christmas on for ages, so we had breakfast the traditional Jeuvos Rancheros (not sure if that is how it spelled but thats how I am going to spell it), mmmmmm DELICIOUS!!! That is one thing I look forward to every year and only get it once but boy o boy do I love it!  For those of you who have never tried it, you NEED to! Then everybody had to go get ready for the day to you know drag the process on longer.  Then it was time to open presents and for those of you who dont know how presents work in my family we get 3- a want, a need, and a surprise!!  The three things I got which I am so stoked about let me tell you a crock pot {a super fancy one}, a TV {so now I can actually have a desk in Tucson}, and this was so a Dad's present but a huge tool kit full of tools that I do not even know how to use but I have them and thats all that's important, right?!? Actually it was a great present because I do need tools for my apartment so I can hang pictures up and do other things without hopefully hurting myself.  Soooo this was super exciting but I wanted to save it for my Christmas post since it was a Christmas present from Christopher I my present was for us to go on a dinner cruise!  Probably the sweetest thing ever, I had no idea what we were doing until we pulled up to it.  It was at Canyon Lake on a ferry boat, we had dinner {steak, chicken, bake potato, salad, and dessert) Delicious!  and it was 2.5 hours around the lake with wonderful music, words cannot express my love for this boy but it was probably the best present ever (possible even better then my ring because I got to spend a whole romantic night just with him) Anywhoo back to Christmas, after my family's shenanigans Chris and I headed down to Gilbert to spend Christmas night with his family, it was so great to spend time with both family's on Christmas!  I also did get some wonderful Christmas presents from everyone, though I do not have time to go into each one, I love each present dearly that I got from everyone and appreciate them so much so thank you!  And that was Christmas....

Thanksgiving!!

Well since I have been so busy I have not been able to do my thanksgiving post!  I also could not do it because of the pictures we took, I was not allowed to post them yet, so I waited!! For thanksgiving I went up to Grandpa Taylor's and Grandma Noni's cabin, it was so great to see everyone and be up in Pine.  I have not been up there in ages.  We lounged around all day, played outside, and just spent time with family.  Nothing tremendous happened, we just took A LOT of pictures!!!!!!!! And the rest of the weekend I spend with my family and Chris studying for my Chemistry exam.  Here are all the wonderful pictures :)

Semester End! Yahooooooo!!!!!!

I have had lots of exciting things that happened this week!!!  I have been super crafty.I think it has been helping my stress a lot because I have been way less stressed!!  I have made a baby boy wreath out of one-sies and bibs.  Then I made a picture holder for sigma alpha's Christmas party.  Then I made a bow for part of Nileah's Christmas present. And I decorated my room with garland, snowflakes, and ribbon!Last week was crazy, but I had a lot go on.  I did my presentation for chemistry, we got a 98%, woo, woo!!  It was my last week of coaching Tanque Verde, they went to state and got 8th out of 24, AMAZING!!  I am so proud of them!  They did so awesome!  They even want to start for next year, I love them, so glad I had this opportunity!  Also I am going this Tuesday and Thursday to teach Floriculture to her classes all day, soEXCITED!!!!UA played ASU, well we lost-ridiculous, I did not go to the game because of my tests.  Then I had a Math and Chemistry test!  I got an 85 on my math test, super proud of that!  And I have not found out my grade for Chemistry.  Friday night after my chemistry test I drove home to Gilbert for COLT the next morning, as always I LOVE going  home.

Colt was great, Heather and I did a workshop on chapter news and agriculture issues, it was pretty awesome!
Then I went to Brittany's baby shower, it was so great to see her, she is due in 5 weeks!!  Then I drove back to Tucson for my Christmas party with Sigma Alpha.  That was super fun, we played this crazy game where you unwrap a present with pot holders on(very difficult) and then we had a gift exchange, I ended up with a super cute frame that Courtney made.  Saturday night I went over to Brody's and played poker with Cheyenne, Brody, Megan, and Kevin, I WON!!  Can you believe it, I actually WON!  This week is crazy but relaxed, I am studying and getting ready for finals!  Last day of classes Wednesday, then its finals!  I am so STOKED the semester is almost over!  Hip Hip Hooray!! Well since I never got this posted before I will just finish.  The next week I went to a Christmas party for CRU,  a Christian college group on campus, me and Courtney dressed up as Candy canes!  Hilarious!!  I also went to the Christian Challenge Christmas Party, which was great to see everyone!  The end of the semester was great, I ended up getting 4 A's and 2 B's (Calculus and Chemistry) which is not horrible, wish I could have done better but not the end of the world.  Also blogspot is being weird.uggg.......my pictures keep getting placed in silly places,so they are just going to be every where until I figure it out!

Then I had a baking party with Kelly and Courtney!!  It was crazy how many baked goods we made they included chocolate covered preztels, sunflower butter cups, snowballs, and oatmeal scotchies. We had so much fun!! And now I am home for Christmas!! yay! yay! Yay!!

A $.54 apple is all it takes

So I know I still have to write about Thanksgiving but this was pretty cool so I thought I would share.  Tonight after Sigma Alpha I was craving some soup(well my body needed the heat since it was like 45 degrees out) so I thought to myself  "hmmm I shall go to Safeway" and on my way I also think "hmm an apple sure does sound delicious."  I arrived at Safeway ready to pick up my delicious soup and guess what?!? NO SOUP!!  They were all out, guess everybody had the same thought as me :) Then I contemplated, well I have an apple in my hand already, should I buy it, I am going to sure look silly standing in a long line to purchase one single apple.  Well something made me buy that darn $.54 apple.  And I discovered why.  I walked outside, apple in hand, next I know a homeless man comes up to me and asks me for some money, I don't carry cash normally, so I said "Sir, I am sorry I do not have any cash, but I do have this delicious apple if you would like it" and he replied "Thank you ma'am", a smile lit his face up as I handed over that $.54 apple.  After I thought, I wonder how long it has been since that man has had a fresh piece of fruit, it sure seemed to make his day and I know that God had me buy that apple for that purpose.  I took an extra 30 minutes out of my night to buy an apple that I didn't even get to enjoy.....but you know what I am sure glad I did because I know that man enjoyed that apple and appreciated it way more than I would have. Life's little blessings.

Just Another Week as Kalea!!

Not too much has happened over the last couple of weeks, but I decided that if I didn't blog a little bit about it I would have a TON to write after Thanksgiving! Last Wednesday I drove home for a doctors appointment on Thursday, before I left I was in a lot of pain in my chest, I thought weird but not the end of the world. When I got home I hung out with the family and Kendra and Melody came over!! Oh my goodness it was so good to see them, Melody is getting so big and is such a happy baby. Kendra is doing great, she misses Ted a lot though! Ted is her husband who just went off to boot camp for 3 months, it has been hard on her but she has this poem that Ted told her about that they sing, it gives her a lot of peace to think about. Kendra also wears his wedding ring on her neck with a yellow ribbon. Nileah just loves when I come home, the longer I am gone the more she is attached to me, I especially love when she comes and cuddles with me the next morning. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE sleeping in my own bed! Too funny, so Chris came over that morning and was laying on my bed talking to me, Nileah was cuddling with me and rolls over to Chris and says "I would cuddle with you, but I miss Kalea because she is never here and you are always here." I started cracking up laughing. My doctors appointment went good, nothing was "wrong". So I headed back down to Tucson for a review session for Chemistry and all of a sudden my
was aching with pain, so bad I ended up going to hospital. We waited forever, Cheyenne being the loving best friend stayed with me until Christopher got there. We got out of the hospital at 1am, I basically stayed in bed the whole day, and missed my Chemistry exam!! But I did get a burst of energy at the end of the day and decided that I would go to the Ice Cats game-I had already told Sigma Alpha I was going and could not back out. So I went, it was intense!!!!! I am still not sure how I feel about it, but I might venture to another one someday. Saturday I was punished for my burst of energy, I woke up with an aching headache and sides killing me, my bed was my best friend again ALLLLL Day!!! Sunday was homework and bed day! So it was Monday, I was terrified, i had to go talk to my Chemistry professor and tell him I missed the exam-BUT I got great news, I didn't have to take it! He is just going to average all of my tests grades and give me that one! Sigma Alpha that night, just a meeting, nothing too exciting. Tuesday best news ever, my 85% on my Trad Exam was curved to an 88% Wednesday was school, also fantastic news- my Chemistry teacher is going to drop one of lowest homework assignments(I got a 0 on one because I read the due date wrong), all of the assignments are added up and equal an exam, H-E-L-L-O 97%!!!! Then I went to CRU, a Christian College Ministry on Campus, super fun, love going! Now its Thursday, today I went to Tanque Verde to see my students for one last practice before district tomorrow, they are so special! I love them all and they are all getting way better at Floriculture!!! So that's pretty much life right now, I am going home tomorrow to meet with Heather to work on our COLT workshop and then go to the lake with mom and dad :)
